Option to duplicate the color combination for new template

This is a crucial feature that could save a significant amount of time. When selecting a template from the Public Library for a mockup, we can currently add color combinations using the color picker tool. However, these color combinations are not saved.

It would be beneficial if we could store these combinations and automatically apply them to new templates when needed.

At the moment, it's a manual process to apply the same color combinations to multiple mockups for the same product but with different styles.

    Thanks for the feedback. We’re currently working on this feature and it will be live in the next few weeks!

    Can you share a bit more details on how would you be using this feature? We want to make sure it satisfies your needs when it comes out.

    For example:

    1. Do you have different sets of colors that you often use in different mockups?

    2. Is it better to add colors from a predefined set one-by-one or to add all colors from a predefined set in one click?

    3. Do you see any benefits if we allow you to define a default color set on the Collection level so they automatically get added when you add a new Mockup to that Collection?

    4. How many colors do you approximately have per color set?

      Just like we can save collections, we could also create color collections with specific types. This would be very helpful for me (and would address the rest of your question) because I often need to create multiple mockups with different styles for the same product. By saving a color collection, I can easily apply it across all mockups.

      If I need a different color combination, I could first create my template with the desired colors, and there could be an option to save this combination as a color collection (or something similar). Then, when I choose a new mockup, I can select my saved color combination.


      In some cases, my mockups have up to 20 colors, while others might have just 2 (like black and white), so having this feature would be really helpful given the randomness of my color needs.

        One last question - do you see any value in having an API to retrieve a list of colors from all sets or a specific set?

          Actually this is a good question .. I am going to use your render api indeed by sending smart object against mockup id (which I am trying for first time today) just saw this color thing.

          I am myself wondering how will the color come into picture with a render call. only I see color parameter with smart_object.

          So, if you are going to return all 20 possible color for a mockup and smart_object for a render call then also fine for me.

          Sorry I understand your question now.. No I don’t think there is any need for api for color collection. I see no use for it.

            Well, this would enable you to retrieve a color collection and loop through the Array of colors when you’re using the Render API so you don’t have to hardcode the hex colors.

            Maybe I’m over engineering things, just trying to figure out if it makes sense 😅
